SECTION 1 – WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?
When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address.
When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.
Email marketing: When you sign up you will be added to the Sankofa Club list with your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products and other updates.

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms and Conditions.
SECTION 4 – MEMBERPRESS and INFUSIONSOFT
Our store is based on the software Memberpress, running on the software from wordpress.org hosted on our server which is run by bigscoots.com. They provide us with the membership site software running on a content management platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.
Your data is stored through in our internal secure databases. Order details are also passed onto our Email marketing platform which runs on InfusionSoft. They store your data in their database behind a secure system.
Payment:
We use third-party payment transaction services through PayPal (privacy https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full) and Stripe (privacy policy https://stripe.com/us/privacy).
SECTION 5 – THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.
However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

SECTION 7 – GDPR SPECIFIC
We are currently working to fully comply with the new EU GDPR laws which will come into place May 25th 2018. You can learn more about the law, what it entails, your rights and our obligations here.
To request the data we store on our site for you related to your orders please visit this link. You can also use this link to request your data and then to tell us to anonymize your personal data (the right to be forgotten) when you receive our email. Requests for this will be acted on within a respectable timeline and your data will be removed from our store and email marketing lists.

How long we retain your data:
Your data is retained for one year. You can see the data by requesting here https://sankofaclub.com/data-access-request/, once requested you can also request deletion which we will comply with within 1 calendar month.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
