Covering Grades 3-5, 6-8, Algebra 1 and Highschool Math!
It is clear that our schools aren’t properly teaching our children.
Too many of them are falling behind and are frustrated as a result.
It is time to give our children the proper support by investing in their success. We must ensure they have the confidence and skills to excel in math. Regardless of whether your child is struggling or doing well in math, we must give them what they need to get on track, stay ahead, and stay motivated in growing in their knowledge.
Your child's frustrations are often not their fault. They were born willing and eager to learn, but the educational system doesn't always provide them with the tools they need to succeed. We have teachers who, themselves, are not confident in their math proficiency and don't have the tools to guide our youngsters. Nor do they illuminate the lives of Black scholars for our children to emulate.
All children learn differently. Some are visual learners, some are tactile, some are auditory, and others need more practical guidance. Regardless, too many of them fall through the cracks and are left behind.
What is happening in the school systems isn't working for our children, and nothing has improved in the last 30 years.
Fortunately, we have the solution you are looking for!!!

OFFICIAL FALL SCHEDULE
This Schedule is Presented in EST
We offer small group tutoring services to children in grades 3rd - 5th, 6th - 8th, Algebra 1, and now, High School Math! We recently expanded the program to include High School Math instruction, including Algebra 2, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus. After speaking with parents in our community, we realized that these are the areas in which our children need us most.
We are committed to ensuring your children get the foundational math skills they need to succeed. As we continue to grow, we will consider expanding our services to additional focus areas.
Instructors will host a virtual classroom where students will present their questions and receive math tutoring. Students will raise their hands and be chosen to present their questions, while their instructor walks them through the steps to complete their math equations. This forum will provide your child with ample opportunities to learn from the other students.
Your monthly subscription includes three grades 3 - 5, two grades 6 - 8 two Algebra 1, and three High School Math sessions per week! PLUS a bonus Open Session which is available for all grade levels. That’s 11 total sessions each week!
You’ll have access to video replays of the tutoring sessions so that you can go back, revisit, review and make the most of each session.
Each month, we will release a new Math Trick for you to practice with your children. Our tutors will prepare a video to accompany the pattern, as well as practice sheets and math challenges for the whole family to enjoy.

As the eldest of 3, she was always drawn to the little ones. Her fondest memories include teaching toddlers in the shelter to walk, identify their colors and sing the alphabet. Her mom is the first Black genius to have impact on her.
She got her work permit at the age of 15 so she could work her first job tutoring her peers. She graduated as Valedictorian at both her Elementary and High School She attributes this success to the Black Math Geniuses who poured into her. She was introduced to the STEM world by her High School Math teacher who mentored and employed her at her summer math camp at the University of Chicago.

They were great!
My son is 13 and we are in the process of deschooling. I asked him to try the sessions one time and he asked to attend each week. He said that if he had a teacher like
Ms. Assata, he would have
liked school more.
Celina Smith
It was phenomenally enriching.
My daughter felt encouraged and this has been the highlight of her Sankofa membership. She even logged back in last week hoping they would start another session.
Z Upose
Ms. Moore was EXTREMELY patient, respectful, and knowledgeable.
We used the time as family time and enjoyed it. It was nice to see other children from different places and see the "get it", understand what she was teaching. It was nice that Assata was well versed and able to handle a wide range of topics, including sparking interest in NFTs.
Marsha Barrow Smith
Exceptional. Patient and helpful. Showed love and respect
for each child.
My youngest son with dyslexia says she really knows her stuff and helped him with the problem and broke it down, and made it simple without struggle. He says her behavior was good. Didn't yell at kids if they got it wrong. But she kept the same nice personality and even when the time was up, she kept her heart open to continue to help us. Thank you!

No, this is small group tutoring. Sessions will be held via Zoom during the designated hours led by our BMG PLUS tutor. Your child will be one of several children in the session. We’ve tested this format and found that, in many cases, group sessions provide additional learning opportunities for students and are an excellent way for them to collectively learn.
Once they open their unique Zoom link, your child will click the
“raise hand” function that will put them in the queue to ask their math question. Once it is their turn, the instructor will ask them to present their question at that time.
Your child will be allowed to get back in line to have their next question answered if time allows.
We offer special rates for families with multiple children. $197/ month for the first child, and only $30 per month per additional child for up to 10 children
We do not offer one-on-one tutoring at this time.
