Absolutely! Inspiration drives us all, especially children. For children, Black Excellence inspires them, but it is left out of their school education plan. Black people must be centered in your child's education to inspire them! This is why we are doing the "Our History Started Before Slavery” Challenge to help you inspire your child!
What Exactly Is This Challenge?
The "Our History Started Before Slavery” 5 Day Challenge is a virtual celebration of Black people throughout our 140k years of history. No disrespect to our Ancestors who were enslaved; however, we must teach our children we existed and thrived thousands of years before we were stolen and enslaved.
Slaves were not stolen from Africa.
Instead contrary to what has been taught, they stole Scientists, Engineers, Architects, Mathematicians, Doctors, Artisans, Inventors and the list goes on. These extraordinary people have been a pillar of the Black/African community since the dawn of time, but you wouldn't know that based on the education system and media.
Nevertheless, each day, we will show you how to use this education to inform and inspire your child in school and life.
We know you want your child to know and respect their history and we want to help you achieve this.

A word from our founder and challenge leader
Hi, I am Freddie Taylor, the CEO & Founder of Urban Intellectuals and Sankofa Club.
We have sold over 400,000 Black History flashcards across the globe. We have provided thousands of parents with educational Black History lessons & tools to engage and foster a strong sense of Black pride within their children.
As a husband & father to two black sons, I knew what it was like to grow up in an educational system without information about our Black history. As my wife and I saw our kids go through the system without tools, I decided to break the cycle. I created not only the tools I wish I had but also helped parents feel confident about teaching their children Black history and giving them a solid place to start without feeling overwhelmed, miseducated, and consumed with time! My sons graduated high school at 16 years old & have beat the odds of what society portrays of our young Black men.
